Meet the Artist: Kayla Donaldson
My name is Kayla Donaldson and I am a versatile artist who works in painting, digital & Graphic design, and sculpting. I'm from Baltimore, Maryland where I am also currently pursuing my bachelor’s in fine arts. A lot of my work includes themes of social justice issues and feminist activism as well as satirical representation of these issues. I find most of my inspiration from the Black Arts Movement and African American artists like Faith Ringgold and Toyin Ojih Odutola. Through mediums of oil paint and canvas surfaces, I use creativity to bring light towards issues of patriarchy and inferiority towards women. As an artist, and a Black Female, I want to continue to use my voice through my work and uplift other women to dismantle issues in society that degrades them. #TheFutureisFemale♀️
